January 31, 2019 - SBOT Workshop: Writing Persuasive Marketing Content Quickly and Confidently
Writing Persuasive Marketing Content Quickly and Confidently
If you’re an entrepreneur, small business owner or marketing professional, chances are you are also a writer. As demands to create valuable marketing content increase -- emails, social media posts, online content -- many of us find ourselves writing every day.
In this hands-on workshop, facilitated by Kim Whidden, an accomplished copywriter and content marketing expert, you will gain practical approaches to writing persuasive, engaging marketing copy. Come away with a framework to create effective marketing content quickly and confidently. (Hint: it’s not all about the grammar.)
This workshop is facilitated by Kim Whidden.
Kim is an accomplished copywriter, content marketer and storyteller. In her 25 years as a marketing professional, she has worked in communications roles in high-tech, healthcare and higher education. As a consultant, she has been the lead copywriter on website development teams, written and edited countless web pages, and has developed successful email campaigns.
People are the centre of all that Kim writes. Drawing on a journalist-like curiosity and empathetic disposition, Kim is known for her clear, friendly and engaging writing that puts the reader first. She has written dozens of success stories and profiles studies for her clients, including the first commercial pilot with type 1 diabetes to fly for Air Canada, an octogenarian who has taken more than 70 continuing education courses, and an MBA graduate who landed a job interview at the top of a waterslide at the West Edmonton Mall.
Kim lives and works in Surrey, BC and the Okanagan, and is the mom to four teens. She was drawn to writing and marketing from a young age, often watching TV commercials only to leave the room when the show came on. She can still sing the Oscar Meyer bologna song.Event payment is due upon registration. Cancellations for event attendance, sponsorship, or exhibitor space will not be refunded.
